Wonders of Skype
This program, which is free, still simply amazes me! My mother finally got a webcam and mic, so I can talk to her and see her at the same time. This excited her a ton! Ha! It took a while though to figure out the mics and volume, but it eventually worked! I also set up my brother with an account, and he has been on there nonstop talking with friends from college. Such a neat tool and for free!!!

Don't forget to check out the site: http://skypeanauthor.wetpaint.com/ to find the names of some authors who are willing to talk to your class. And, when you start to think about what all this brings to a classroom, well, it's exciting stuff, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI checked out the author's page and I am excited to do some more searching for author's that match our new reading curriculum. I like that you can search authors by genre. The possibilities are endless.
