Day 2

I am feeling slightly overwhelmed by everything today. There were so many tools that were shown which I am sure are awesome but it is so hard to wrap my head around them without actually using them. I am trying to take this evening to reflect and think about how I might go about using some of the tools in my classroom. I love the idea of using a wiki as a webpage for the classroom and not only giving information to parents and students but I love that they can collaborate as well through the page. I have already started my own wiki for the upcoming school year! I usually hesitate to jump on the bandwagon but I am very excited about trying it this year. I do get a little nervous to try a lot of the tools in my second grade classroom. We just started to use a mobile lab this past year and it was kind of crazy. It took most of the year for the kids to understand the basics of the computer. It was hard to do anything that required much work on their part. Since last year was the first year, I am hoping that the 1st graders coming up to 2nd grade will already have a basic knowledge of computers and be ready to move on to more difficult tasks that will challenge them. I love this ever-changing world but I sure do hope I can keep up!
