We spent a lot of time learning about Diigo. I enjoyed learning that it was a place to store all sorts of tools and websites for ready access and use, especially on any computer. It's nice to have one place where all of the websites you want or need are located. I really like the Diigo tool bar. This is a lot faster for me. It allows you to drop down to a specific list and click on that link. However, you have to make sure you have this downloaded on your computer. Schools might not allow you to download things on their computers, but it is a nice feature.
When I am on my personal computer, I still use my regular tool bar for the most part. If I like a site and know that I will visit it later, then I will usually just add it to my tool bar. I have organized my tool bar into folders and drop down arrows to minimize space. I am so use to using this that I forget the Diigo tool bar is there! The more I become familiar with Diigo, the more I think I will use it!
I also organize links to sites I use regularly on the bookmarks toolbar in my browser. One thing about Diigo, though, is that no matter what computer you are using you can find your links when you need them. I also put links that are 'temporary' (I use them alot for a brief time period) on the toolbar rather than in Diigo.
ReplyDeleteEach tool serves its own purpose! It's all about knowing what to use when and what works for you!
