Discussions
As I began to work on my homework I found myself overwhelmed with discussion forums on moodle! I just wanted to give some advice if any classmates are reading: START NOW! I try to chip away at a couple things each day. There is just so much to do that it will be less stressful if you break it down. I am having fun looking at some of the accounts we need to sign up for though. Edmodo is very similar to facebook in layout so I think my students will like that from the beginning. I know! I still get some discussion posts by email and I think I might go back and set them all like that. Then when they come in on my phone, at least I can read them before heading into the forums to respond. I hadn't thought of that when I turned some of the notifications off.
ReplyDeleteI know some folks that really love Edmodo. They report the students really respond well to it in class.
I looked at that and created an account. It is very similar to facebook. I wish I had older kids that could use that in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteI think my lacrosse team is already fed up with me! I made a facebook group for them to join as well as a blog for them. It does help me save on calling or texting them a lot of information though! I thought for sure that our high school was a bit more techy. The team isn't as familiar with the tools we have been learning about as I thought they would be. It's kind of disappointing!
